grandparents' 50th anniversary last night, at a super fancy restaurant called 5&10 - they had a menu made for them, with specific wine pairings for each course.
i had some of a $1000 bottle of vintage 1959 wine - Haut Brion, Pessac Leognan, from Bordeaux France.
they all told me it was a pretty big deal to have some because it would probably be the only time i got such an expensive bottle of wine! it tasted like no other, that's for sure. mmmm.
menu - excuse the wine stain-...included vanilla creme brulee with local blueberries, tossed with maple and mint and slow roasted wild Alaskan king salmon with a summer ragout of tomatoes, butter beans and basil, and mustard emulsion
I love food.
